For the princely sum of £3.50 GBP ASDA is selling 1:55 scale "Adventure Wheels" 0-4-0 Saddle tank Locomotives. They come in garish red, green and blue but can be repainted easily.

Mine will be used as cover on the Ostfront.

A bargain indeed even if one ignores the "lights 'n' sounds".

Bad photo, I am mildly inebriated and in bed but it should give you an inkling.

Figure is a Perry hybrid.

The engine is usable from Cornwall to Manchuria.

Interesting. I've seen that same toy here in the states, but they come without packaging in one of those open cardboard trays. Looks right on for scale.

As mine will be used as cover/terrain, I will give it a coat of black and a Reichsbahn Eagle. Then it will work well!

Nice find Porkmann – might get one (or two) for my Prohibition era project. Any idea if they do wagons/coaches as well?

Porkmann06 Sep 2014 7:34 a.m. PST

Tamsin, I didn't see any wagons. However I was in a rush…

I'm pretty certain that is Teamsters train repackaged and they are generally available on Ebay they come with either a carraige or a tender.

Nice find, thanks. By the way, what does ASDA mean?

flooglestreet08 Sep 2014 7:59 a.m. PST

Ack, Some Damn Annoyance, ASDA
