I think they're pretty cool. I thought about turning my 54mm hobby into a self funding thing but after doing a huge amount of commission work for a friend, I found my own collection wasn't getting painted fast enough.

Cheers, that happens.

Awesome -these are classic figures from my childhood!

Nice job! thumbs up I have been slowly picking up these figs and the regular British infantry for my 54mm games. Biggest issue I have found (aside from buildings) is that Universal carriers aren't cheap in 1/35 or 1/32.

Lovely looking troops. What make are these figures? The poses look just like the ESCI 1/72 hard plastic paras.

RayHaskins06 Sep 2014 2:05 a.m. PST

Cheers Mike, these are the new harder plastic Airfix 1/32 scale. They have been around since the early 70's,Airfix have used a harder plastic rather than the softer plastic they first used.

MAD MIKE06 Sep 2014 10:23 a.m. PST

Thanks for the info. I guess ESCI was "inspired" by these figures.

The Airfix re-release in hard plastic is definitely challenging my commitment to 15mm for WW2. Tnkmodels' painted examples aren't helping with my resolve! :D

The Airfix para set has such great poses, every one a winner, one very curious thing about the para set though is that while most of the figures in berets are 1/32 most of the figures in helmets closer to 1/35…. a
bit wierd, but they are still brilliant, and it just makes them a bit more compatible with the myriad of 1/35

RayHaskins09 Sep 2014 9:22 a.m. PST

I first saw this set as a child way back on the 70's while playing with airfix soldiers with a freind( who is now a lawyer)and who still collects model soldiers. And ever since then they have been at the top of my list of top 10.
