We had a wonderful battle last night using Piquet (Hallowed Ground) and my 15mm Maximilian collection.

See the battle report and lots of photos on my blog:

Lots of other items on the blog to checkout. Please snoop around. :-)

Hey Eric.

Great AAR. Can you tell me what books you're reading to research the Maximilian Adventure? Tough to find sources in English …

thanks

This looks great Eric and I especially like the terrain which has a great atmosphere.

Still think your blog is one of the best.

Nice one Eric

One of my two favourite periods

@Robert – thank you! I appreciate that. I don't think anybody realizes how much work it is to run a game with good terrain.

@Brian – Here are the books I have read and used so far:

Imperial Adventurer by Haslip
The Crown of Mexico by Haslip
Maximilian's Lieutenant by Pitner
A Black Corps d'Elite by Hill & Hogg
An American in Maximilian's Mexico by Anderson
Cactus Throne by O'Connor

Some Wikipedia in Spanish and English too.

Great AAR!

In addition to the above the Company of Military Historians published a book with some good uniform info about 30 years ago – I have a copy if you have any specific queries

Also, there is the booklet from QRF (old Friekorp) about the period.

Nice write-up Eric. I love a "war room" filled with books too. I hope to see you in January for some gaming in Charlotte.

Send along a confirmed weekend and I'll make sure I'm in town.
