A good book, but really an Allied victory – more or less due to incredible blunders by N. |

I think that Jerome might have had something to do with it – plus some assumptions that Grouchy had about where and what the Prussians were doing |

No doubt a great Allied victory but not the British victory that was circulated throughout Great Britain for many decades. |

Whereabouts? I live near Tampa |

more or less due to incredible blunders by N Just as most of N's victories owed more than a little to incredible blunders by his opponents…. Doug |

@Lou from BSM I'm not really in the Sunshine State at the moment, that's only a cover story. When I am there it is usually Kissimmee during May and June avoiding the theme parks. I've been to Tampa a few times, usually Busch Gardens and the Aquarium although I've been to see the Rays play in St Pete. |

Hmmmm – the book is very biased, but the detail is very good. I am awaiting more balanced accounts. In the mean time there is a very good balanced read Waterloo Barbero |

@Marcus Maximus Thanks Have just ordered the Barbero book. I do like to read widely on various subjects. This should help a lot. |

@Jim no problem. I don't buy every book on Waterloo – I'm particular but I have read "he whose name can't be named on here" Waterloo volumes (1 & 2) and do find he is one of a select few who opens up Prussian archive material to the wider English audience which is a blessing for those of us whose German is rusty or for those cannot read German. |

@Marcus Maximus When I read the Barbero book, and that will be soon, I will probably blog something about it. I might list all my other Waterloo books at that point to show that I'm trying to be as objective as possible and not just mudslinging. Jim |

If you look back there is volumes on TMP about this book. Doesn't bother me, I'm a Prussian Army collector. |

How about Andrew Field's "Waterloo from the French Perspective". Very nicely done and he's a British Army Officer to boot. |

@DeRuyter I'm tempted, £7.41 GBP for a kindle edition in the UK at the moment. Let me finish the Barbero book first, started it last night! |
