Just come across this kickstarter project – Hungarian Tanks in 1/56 scale. The campaign started at 1:30 pm (BST) today and has already passed its funding goal of £1,000.00 GBP, and it runs until 3rd October. Thought this may be of interest to some on here. The link is: link |

They do look good. I hope they make these available to the general public. |
CBRFigs | 03 Sep 2014 2:44 p.m. PST |
Seven stretch goals already unlocked, and in just 9 hours! I think this is going to be quite successful. @Disco Joe – Bob has said that he will be selling them retail after the backers have theirs, though of course at a higher price! :o) |

I know of a range of Hungarians that are planned for next year via kickstarter. ;) These tanks and vehicles would really fit in well with them I think. |

Having seens Bob's work in the flesh at our BA tournament I can tell you he does cracking work. |
CBRFigs | 04 Sep 2014 8:47 a.m. PST |
The kickstarter has reached £3,376.00 GBP already, and all but 2 of the original stretch goals have been achieved including all the vehicles and tanks. Bob has said that new stretch goals will be announced soon. Next stretch goals are at £3,700.00 GBP and £4,000.00 GBP – so they will be likely be unlocked soon as well. :) There are now just 2 'Early Bird – Select a Company' (any 10 vehicles) left. Doubt whether these will last long. ;) |

£3,556.00 GBP now, and in 2 days … |
CBRFigs | 04 Sep 2014 11:41 p.m. PST |
The Flak tank crews have been unlocked at £3,700.00 GBP Next stretch goal is at £4,000.00 GBP (just £233.00 GBP away) and is the upgrade for all Platoon and Company level pledges of will come with a set of tank crew figures. In addition every 38M Botond and 41M Raba Ari will come with a driver figure. All the 'Early Bird – Select a Company' have now gone. There are other 'Early Bird' levels available but the 'Early Bird – Select a Company' seems to have been the sweet spot. |

Yesterday saw all the original stretch goals unlocked, and 3 new stretch goals announced. These are: - £4,500.00 GBP – Toldi III Upgrade. All Light Tank pledges come with Toldi spaced armour. 'Select a Tank' pledges gain the Toldi III option. - £5,000.00 GBP – Hungarian Tank Ace Upgrade. All 'Company (and above) level pledges' come with a free Ervin Tarczany figure. - £5,500.00 GBP – Finnish Flak Upgrade. All Nimrod pledges can replace the Nimrod turret with a Landsverk L-62 turret for free or add it as an additional turret for +£4. Select a tank pledges gain the Landsverk L-62 option. Well at the time of writing this the Toldi III upgrade is only £4.00 GBP away! :o) The Landsverk L-62 is great news for those who have Finnish armies, a real plus to their composition. |

…………………………. Quick update – no surprise here but the Toldi III upgrade (space armour) has been unlocked. :) |
CBRFigs | 07 Sep 2014 1:45 p.m. PST |
The figure of the Hungarian knighted tank ace Ervin Tarczay has just been unlocked. :) Next is the Finnish Landsverk L-62 turret for the Nimrod at £5,500.00 GBP This will undoubtedly prove to be a draw to many gamers fighting the Russian – Finnish wars. :o) This is the last of the present stretch goals announced and I assume Bob will announce some more tomorrow. Just found out that another company will soon be running a kickstarter for 28mm WWII Hungarian and Romanian infantry (and other Balkan nations), this would really sit in well with the tanks and vehicles in Bolt Action and CoC games. |

I can reveal the company as they have publicly announced it is BakerCompany.co.uk. Gavin the owner, who ran the Winter War KS last year announced last night that he is bringing forward his plans for a 'Balkans' KS, which he will run after the completion this month of the much be troubled 'Winter War' campaign which is running 4-5 months late. Gavin held a poll amongst the WW backers to see what they wanted him to do next and 'the Balkans' won, so this was always on the cards, but with Bob's 'Hungarian Tanks' being such a success Gav decided it was best to support it by running it straight after the WW completed. :o) I will leave it there as obviously there will be more 'official' announcements in the coming days. But what is interesting is that we backers outrun all the stretch goals this weekend of the 'Hungarian Tanks' kickstarter. {Bob will have to get his thinking cap on and see if he can produce any more stretch goals. :) } |

CBRFigs | 08 Sep 2014 6:58 a.m. PST |
@Lou – Bob has a little while ago said he will be putting up new stretch goals this Wednesday. He plans for: - Prototype Hungarian tanks (which could be interesting in their own right not only to wargamers but to AFV model collectors) - Some adversary tanks/vehicles (?) One important announcement was that Bob will be shipping in 'Backer number order' (which I wish all kickstarter campaigns adhered to), so it makes sense for potential backers to place a holding pledge in as early as possible which they can then adjust later. ;) |

Bob has just announced the next 3 stretch goals and more. :o) Update # 5 £7,000.00 GBP – 44M TAS 'Select a Tank' pledges gain the 44M TAS option (+£2 per tank) Heavy Tank Pledge = £22.00 GBP Heavy Tank Section (3 tanks) = £60.00 GBP Heavy Tank Platoon (5 tanks) = £100.00 GBP £7,500.00 GBP – Szebeny's Heavy Flak upgrade for the Nimrod
All Nimrod pledges gain one 80mm Nimrod turret for free. 'Select a Tank' pledges gain the 80mm option. £8,500.00 GBP – 44M TAS Rohamloveg
Tank Hunter Pledge = £22.00 GBP Tank Hunter Section (3 tanks) = £60.00 GBP Tank Hunter Platoon (5 tanks) = £100.00 GBP The 44m Tas was intended to be Hungary's Panther equivalent as Hungarian production facilities were not advanced enough to produce the Panther domestically. The 44m Tas series never saw active service, but the tank variant can be used as a substitute for a Panther, while the Tas Rohamloveg is a good substitute for a Jagdpanther. The next set of stretch goals will be aimed at broadening this project to cover other Balkans nations, followed by a small amount of support for the main opposition, and finally a return to Hungarians for the home straight. These future stretch goals are being carefully planned so they do not overly affect the delivery schedule, and many of the items are ones were I have already started (or even completed) the design work. ………………………………………………… Think we are about to see a whole leap in new backers. At time of posting pledge total was already £6,109.00 GBP, so less than £900.00 GBP to unlock the next stretch. :o) Just remember Bob has already announced that orders will be despatched in 'Backer number order', so those who back early on get their pledge rewards before those who back later. (And that is the way it should be IMO.) |

Straw poll time (also hi guys) I'm thinking about adding a Romanian Tacam Stretch goal. It will either be the Tacam T60 or the Tacam R-2. If I do a Tacam R-2 I will also add a Pz. 35t stretch goal (it uses the same chassis) The 35t was used by: Czechoslovakia, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary However the Tacam R-2 was only used from 1944, whereas the Tacam T60 was used from 1943 |
CBRFigs | 10 Sep 2014 6:44 a.m. PST |
Just £306.00 GBP now away from the next stretch goal. :o) Also Some great news, I have just heard from Robert at Mushroom Model Publications that the book 'Magyar Steel – (Hungarian AFV's of World War Two)' by Csaba Becze is available again as a digital reprint on demand book, the link to the shop and book is: link Hope this helps. Also don't forget to cast your vote on which Tacam Bob should include in a future stretch goal (see post above this one). |

Some great tanks and vehicles coming out from this kicksstarter. :) |

The majority of models (so far) on the KickStart are for a Hungarian force, but there is also support for Romania and Russia. However, I am not sure that there has been a simple list of what is on offer here. So here is one :-) Hungarian Toldi I/II light tank Hungarian Toldi IIa/III light tank Hungarian Turan I medium tank Hungarian Turan II medium tank Hungarian Turan III medium tank (prototype) Hungarian Zrinyi I AT assualt gun (prototype) Hungarian Zrinyi II infantry support assault gun Hungarian Nimrod AT / Flak SPG Hungarian Nimrod 80mm AT SPG (prototype) Hungarian 38M Botond truck Hungarian 41M Raba Ari tow truck Hungarian 39M Csaba armoured car Hungarian 40M Csaba armoured car Hungarian 44M TAS heavy tank (prototype) Hungarian 44M TAS Eohamloveg assault gun (prototype) Romanian Tacam R-2 SPG Czech/Romanian LT vz 35 / Panzer 35(t) light tank French/Romanian Renault UE Chenillete artillery tow Russian ZIS 6 truck Russian ZIS-42M half-track Russian Katyusha rocket launcher truck Finnish/Swedish Landsverk L-62 Flak SPG As well as the listed countries, many of these AFVs were used elsewhere in the Balkans/Eastern Front or the rest of the world. A great KickStarter with a wealth of vehicles, all reasonably priced. With options and crew available on selected models. A must have for a Hungarian force and a great place for that unusual model for everyone else. Highly recommended. |

ZIS-42M half track and the Katyusha on a ZIS-6 chassis. Very nice. I know a lot of people who are keen to get a Katyusha; though personally I prefer the half-track :-) The tracks units are to be available separately so I can always have the rockets on the ZIS-42M. |

Here is a painted up Nimrod…
Initially designed as a anti-tank gun, when it proved insufficient against Russian tanks it was used as a flak gun. The Finnish used six of the Swedish version of the gun: the Landsverk L-62 – a turret to convert is part of the kickstarter. There is also a conversion turret to the make the prototype 80mm gunned version of the tank – this was to be fitted with a quick fire version of the 80mm field gun. There are also four crew being made for this vehicle.
If you pledge for the Nimrod – £20.00 GBP – then you get the SPG, all three turrets and the crew. Or the turrets and crew are available separately if you get the Nimrod as part of a multi-tank pledge. |

If, like me, you are not familiar with the Tacam R-2 it was a Romanian tank hunter, based on a Czech LT vz 35 (Panzer 35(t)) hull mounting a soviet 76.2mm ZiS-3 field gun dating from 1944
