Here's the next one, and it's a biggie. An Elevated Train Station. This one began it's life as a Fisher Price GEO Trax playset. It's just the start of a Terrain Sub-set that I'm working on that will be an elevated train line. I've got all the necessary pieces, I've just got to get assembling and painting. Stay Tuned for future posts. As always pics from every angle (including the underside) and other details here: link Anyway, here goes: images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2014/8/26/642327_md-.JPG

Excellent job on all of the pieces. I really like the worn brick and small details. |

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for that, but almost all of that is molded onto the model. Makes me think that the model-makers who sculpted this thing for Fisher Price really had alot of fun with it. They didn't have to put so much into it, but they clearly went the extra mile. |

Very nice. Looks like something to watch out for at flea markets and good will stores. |

Very nice…. it looks like it could be right out of the movie "Dark City". |

That's high praise. I love that movie. My initial thoughts for this series of terrain was sort of Blade-runner-ish, but Detroit or Chicago rather than Los Angles. Run down and in some places abandoned, but not the blown up and cratered environs that are so prevalent in sci-fi gaming. Not only is it a look I like, but it makes it equally usable in post apoc or sci-fi settings. |

It's always nice to get more than one type of game out of terrain. |

Definitely. Come to think of it, I could probably use them in Modern or Cyberpunk settings also if I ever game those. |

Really nice work. How much more extra detail did you have to add compared to what was part of the original piece. 8) |

Almost nothing. I added the lower support column on the right (the one with the green door) because it was missing a support for that corner, but even that piece is just part of another toy. I also glued on a block to the bottom of the stairway and maybe a couple of other small parts. Most of rest of the work was just grinding away certain detail (flowers, candy shop, etc) and covering those spaces with single sided corrugated cardboard. Also, I added lots of nicks and chips to the cement floors and a few other places. |

Looks like the Apocalypse started at 20 to 3. Am or Pm? :) Very cool you painted it up beautifully. Cheers |

I think it's more that the apocalypse weights just over 16 pounds, but it could be a clock too. ;-) It probably would have been a nice touch if I'd glued on some sort of platform for the scale. Next time… |
