I am beginning to plan a Guns of Navarone style mountain positioned gun for my 28mm figs and was wondering if anyone here has built something similar before? I want to include the interior of the mountain and am planning on using a 4'x4' board. Any advice or ideas or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Echoing TNE2300, I know that some gamers have used the old Marx playset as a starting point. It sounds like what you intend is much more involved, though. Here's a thread on the Airfix Tribute Forum. This guy built a great diorama of the gun cavern: link
Scale is 1/72, I think. Lots more photos and details of the build in the thread. For the rest of the interior and the approaches to the mountain, your best bet is to get your hands on the DVD and step your way through it, jotting down details as you go. I'm curious to see what other gamers have done with this scenario. |

That's so weird. I picked up a Marx Navarrone set at the flea market this weekend. Has all the guns and even the elevator. Neat piece! |

Thanks the Playset is amazing (I owned it as a kid) but I was looking for something a bit more realistic. Looking for ideas on doing the internals for a mountain base. The Airfix Tribute Forum is a great help. Thanks! Any other ideas or links to bunker or fortress complexes out there? |

Guns of Minestrone is another similar set done in expanded foam in about 1/72nd scale. It's long out of production, but maybe eBay. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |
