Did officers and senior ranks have a different color edging to the wide brim hats worn in the late 17th century?. Or were they all white?. I am just starting to paint up some Front Rank figures for the period. |

Officers hats were edged gold for troops it matched their buttons brass buttons = yellow edge and silver buttons = white edge mostly. |

Just to warn you, depending on the nationality and regiment, you could have other colored hat trim such as red (for example). Dan |

The regiment will be the English 1st foot guards. Also, unfortunately, try as I might, I have never succeeded in uploading photos. However I don't think my paint jobs are worth showing. |
