Hello, I confess, I'm still using the old "Snakebite Leather" from GW as it's still the best all-around natural leather looking paint I've found. But the paint is well past its normal life and I need a replacement. What do you folks see as the best all-around acrylic brush-on natural-looking leather paint? What's your go-to paint for that? Some candidates I've been considering: P3 Paint Line: Bootstrap Leather link Reaper Master Paint Leather Brown link Vallejo Game Color: 17ml Cobra Leather link Thanks |

I use the Vallejo color after the GW Snakebite Leather was exhausted. The color is not an exact match, but "close enough." The GW replacement equivalent is NOT the same BTW! Damon. |

I have used the Foundry line Buff leather with good results. |

To get a nice reddish tinge leather I paint with burnt sienna first then wash with Vallejo wood. |

I've always thought that Vallejo Panzer Aces 70.311 Madera Nueva New Wood Is as closest a match myself. |

Second coat d'arms barbarian leather it's spot on the same as snake bite leather :) And it should be as they are the ones that made it for GW back in the day. Cheers Matt |

Depending on the tanning process, leather comes in various shades and colors. I use colors ranging from black to light buff. My favorites are raw or burnt sienna, russet and a brownish black. |

I like to use a combination of colors. Vallejo Game color Cobra Leather P3 Bloodstone. It makes a nice reddish brown leather color. Vallejo model color German Camo Medium Brown. I like to use it to make an older worn out leather. |

I use nearly any brown available and then hit it with Vallejo Smokey Ink. That stuff gives an outstanding mottled, natural finish to leather areas. |

Leather is too varied in appearance to just use one color. I use a variety of browns, tans, reddish-browns, and black, as appropriate. |

I've always been satisfied with the effect got from Humbrol Matt Acrylic 62 'Matt Leather". Also makes a good basecoat for flesh – Humbrol 62 Matt Leather, then GW Dwarf Flesh highlighted by GW Elf Flesh. |
