turn 1 – putin has gone off the deep end and sent a russian tank battalion deep into the heart of philadelphia in an effort to re-capture the fair maiden Dora who lurks silently in the forests of the wissahickon

here you can see the first wave of t-72 tanks as they roll away from germantown avenue towards the waiting american infantry company in the valley

a flight of hind helicopters can be seen hovering at low altitude on plexiglass tubes. a single mig 27 can also be seen at medium altitude

turn 2 – here you can see the american infantry company holding Dora hostage and keeping to the heavy forests near the wissahickon creek. there are ten M1's in support and a pair of A10 warthogs in direct support. in this turn, artillery observers on the american side are rolling to see the leading tank columns in order to direct subsequent SADARM artillery which will arrive on soon

Dora waits patiently under the hemlock trees in deep conversation with some ancient dryads as the sky begins to darken with the approaching storm

turn 3 – artillery has begun to take its toll on the russian tank columns but Vasily Borodinofski, in command of the advancing battalion, orders his heavy rocket artillery, seen in the foreground, into position to launch enormous destructive powers on the few M1 tanks seen hiding inside the forest boxes along the edge of the creek

meanwhile, Dora is confused by the loud noises of the distant explosions and seeks comfort and calm in a small cave under the granite cliffs on the southern banks of the creek. she knows not of the ghoulish vampires who live there

turn 4 – russian Hind helicopter on the left flank seen laser-designating an american M1 on the crest of a hill as an A10 warthog circles nearby looking for groups of targets to attack with cannon, having long since depleted his supply of anti-tank missiles

as Dora feels the anger and horror of the approaching battle she hears a vampire creeping up behind her in the dark cave

turn 5 – the soviet attack begins to disintegrate along the right flank, which met the full force of the infantry company dug-in along the creek
soviet losses are nearing fifty percent in this sector at this point
Dora is shocked as she meets the vampire who appears to her as a handsome and intelligent if balding young man who tries to lure her into conversations about english castles

turn 6 – a hind-d helicopter is hit and spirals to earth very near to where Dora is hiding in a cave. she screams and runs out of the cave into the arms of the weirdo who created this vast wargame panorama from the cast-off dregs and trash of his well-to-do neighbors

turn 7 – the game nearly over, the soviet losses are too high to secure the terrain objectives of crossing a full tank company to the other side of the creek
this marks a marginal victory for the americans

meanwhile, Dora falls deeply in love with the creator and the two are seen frolicking among the wildflower fields as they run away from the raging battle

note – most of the destroyed tanks have been removed from the board at this point to show what few forces are left to mop up

Nicely done. What rules?

gameboards02 Sep 2014 8:55 a.m. PST

oh, well, its a kind of combination of three published wargame rules for mini's along with some of my own.

most of the rule system is based on wargames research group of england's book

barnabas and dark shadows had nothing to do with it

Dora is such a trollop. Seriously, Putin can do better.

gameboards02 Sep 2014 2:30 p.m. PST

Lol! very humorous
but I had to roll a fifteen percent chance that she would fall into my arms!

tuscaloosa02 Sep 2014 6:40 p.m. PST

I hear that's what she tells all the mechanised infantrymen!

Seriously, nice game, looks just like a brigade level staff exercise.
