If my arithmetic is right, isn't today the 75th anniversary of the German invasion of Poland? The start of the series of events that became the Second World War, and of 5 very dark years for Poland. |

Of course, the Soviet era. But as Stephen Ambrose, I believe correctly commented, The Soviet dictatorship was a far less sinister one than the Nazis. |

The astounding achievement of the Nazis was that all other dictatorships are less sinister. It's like getting six stars out of five on the 'Evil' rating. |

'The Soviet dictatorship was a far less sinister one than the Nazis' Far less, I dont think so they ran the Nazis a very close second…….NKVD.. I dont think the SS could teach them much from what I have read. Regards |

I might also add that it was the Soviet-German invasion of Poland… (Though the Soviets did give the Germans two weeks' head-start) |
