"According to the latest rumours from Hollywood, DOWNTON ABBEY star Dan Stevens is currently the main contender for the lead role in the remake of ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK! Charlie Hunnam and Jon Bernthal from THE WALKING DEAD are also in the run. The sf classic was set in a future world following convicted bank robber Snake Plissken who is tasked with saving the US president after Air Force One crashlands in Manhattan, which is now a maximum-security prison. Rumour has it that the producers will try to develop strong characters in the form of co-leads with possible sequels in mind. Some of them will include schizophrenic travel guide Cabbie, war journalist Mina, presidential security detail survivor Gareth and Snake's former crime partner Brain." From Hollywood Spy. Sooo, they're doing a remake of an arguably mediocre film AND they plan sequels? Some one needs to call the U.N. There is a crime against humanity in there somewhere. |

Yes! The producers are already paying people to come and see it. I understand the first sequel will be titled "Snake-nado: Escape From The Movie Theatre, The Second One." |

As long as they film it in my hometown of St. Louis again! Even more appropriate, as we have been painted as the center of the anarchic apocalypse lately. . . |
