Face seems "off" somehow from side view. Not noticeable from the front, though.

Chainmail bikini and greaves

Formulaic – but great painting

abelp0102 Sep 2014 4:14 a.m. PST

Face looks sunk into her head.

Crom forbid that her armor should actually protect any vital organs.

Dear Abelp01

Yes I noticed that too.

The head seems small in the back too though it's not clear.

Not to be an "Osprey Nazi" but the grips of the shield seem all wrong. It looks like it would constantly droop, and be hard to parry with.

But what the heck why quibble.

"Crom forbid that her armor should actually protect any vital organs." Define 'vital' evil grin.
'Seriously' by tradition in fantasy female armour gives protection in inverse proportion to the area covered: a chainmail bikini is far more efficient than a full suit of plate armour.

Crom forbid that her armor should actually protect any vital organs.

Actually I think that her armour protects precisily what Crom thinks IS important.

Barbarian? Not sure. Traditionally barbarians are fur-clad, a (relatively) full suit of scale armour is more iconic of 'advanced' fantasy cultures grin.
A [Marvel] Red Sonja clone with a disappoining face.

Btw, do you remember Kate Bush? YouTube link Though repordely her armour was inspired not directly from Red Sonja but from a book cover for 'Raven'
