I recently ordered several sets of Splintered Light Miniatures 20mm fantasy line. I painted the first couple this morning: Bugbears!

beautiful sculpts, though why would a powerful melee creature like them would use ranged weapons

Good question. Perhaps in case of a siege?
I have 9 units of Bugbear foot, and 3 crossbow in my Bugbear army. So, the ratio is 3 – 1 in favor of smashing.

Makes sense, just seems a waste when they can do so much more up close. Those axmen are really nice, esp given the size of the minis.

The goblins are much smaller and the Bob Olley detail comes shining through.

I have some of these myself (still unpainted) – beautiful sculpts.

Figure the crossbows are 'super-heavy' in nature, perfect for penetrating tough dwarvish armor!

Great work! School has slammed me the last couple of weeks but I do have an email from you that I intend to answer in more detail soon(ish). Thanks for sharing.
