With a too hot summer to paint i'm in the process or reviewing my painted/unpainted TSATF armies..now i ask you please the same question for European/Regular troops
.so i'm asking your advice on how many, in your personal game experience, could be the maximum number of 28mm minis that i could have the opportunity to field in a wargame table to be able to play various scenarios/campaign manageable in a wargame table for those armies:

Desert Column British Sudan:
Egyptians Sudan:
British Zulu War:
Anglo-Indian NWF:
British 2nd Boer War:

I would never use more than 5 to 7 units (that's counting a gun or two). I love the rules and the fact you can have cracking games with less than 300 to 350 castings. Anymore than that it may get tedious. Besides. I'd rather get in two good "movie type actions" games instead on one big effort. John Leahy could pipe in, he ran an Islawanda game using no more than 360 plastics and by hell, it's remains one of the top three or four games I ever played in. If he would run it again, I'd be up there in a flash.
