What do folks find to be the best material with which to make spinning propellers for 1/144 aircraft? |

I saw some photo etched spinning [ropellors in a modeling magazine, and thought they looked very cool. link However, this is where we hit the brick wall between display models and models that we play with. I am afraid that no matter how well they may look, they would be too fragile for gaming. I would punch out clear plastic and paint it appropriately. |

I would use clear transparency sheet. You could add lines with a marker for the blades. |

As above. Transparency sheets and a hole punch will see you right. Doug |

Thanks, Dennis. That's great! And I like that it warns against using on models of jets! |

MiniPainter, I gave you my answer on my "Blue Max Homage" topic. But it's about the same as Haywire but I paint my spinners with a brush. Peter |

I put a laminator sheet through the machine, with nothing else, it is pretty firm. Then, as above scribe a circle out, then use a scapel point to scribe multiple zigzags on them in to out, getting larger as they get out to the edge, the number of scribes depending on the number of prop blades.
