Never mind the Bavarian artillery limbers etc (which are very nice) drool over this! See the Perrys' website and notice the variant potential. I have an early version of this sledge, created and given to me by NR. It comes from the Borodino museum and you'll find out more with a simple search. This is fantastic…….. It may be the time difference and Tango is probably still asleep, as Perrys announce this

Nice, they even do the headgear of Naploéon as shown by Faber du Faur – as alternative choice and the Bavarian artillery equipment looks smashing.

Niels sent me many pictures of the original sleigh (not sledge as I said above). Let me share a couple with you;
Suggestion this might have actually been Davout's carriage I think I recall, but who cares about details? Been to Moscow three times but never got to Borodino……..sad. Stress these are Niel's photos. Talent…….. |

Another great piece. Riding through the snow, in a two horse open sleigh … |

I have always wanted to do the retreat. I might just have to do it after all. WOW! |

Shame they didn't include a set of figures waving goodbye to the great man :) |

Might need some conversion but there are two "British" uniformed figures from Westfalia who would do nicely. They are both raising one hand and suggesting that two horses would have been enough…or at least I think that is their message…….. |

The collaboration between Niels & Alan Perry is one of the greatest things to have happened in the history of the hobby. Both artists seem to bring out the best in each other & I hope this is a relationship that endures well into the future. I used to drool over Norman Swales models, but NR has taken things to the next level & beyond. Luckily the Perry boys can match this talent to create this sort of result. Something almost unimaginable ony 5 years ago or so. The Bavarian artillery pieces look incredible. One small considertaion.. I wonder if the Perry's might re-visit their earlier French/Belgian artillery pieces which are somewhat pedestrain when compared to what is available to them now? To clarify, the actual gun carriages are fine, but the barrels look nothing like a French gun barrel. The guns that come with thier guard artillery releases are much better for example. |

Too bad we can't get more pictures from the Russian museums. I'm sure they have some great stuff! |

Will they do a crew with Scud East, Valentina Pencherjevsky and Flashman? With a Captain Ignatiev waving a knout around? |

For French artillery pieces and ammunition waggons – try Westphalia miniatures – Niels did those as well – and they are superb. As for waving good bye in Russia – it is very doubtfull that NB would realize the British salute – and remember the depart (as usual, in Egypt as well) was a clandestine operation, some soldiers might have used their muskets, otherwise. |
