I understand the folks at Last Square have dropped Rcok Con but some new players are carrying on under a new name. Anyone got details or contact info? |

Just letting you know that officially RockCon is no more and What-Khan is the replacement convention. Got word from Antina and Darryl about their convention a week or so ago. So I'm sending this out to spread the word, if you haven't heard yet. A couple of weeks later than normal, but the same location in Rockford, IL. Future dates may change. I don't know all the details, I'm just making sure everyone get notified. Yes, it is the same weekend at TeslaCon 5 in Madison, and GameHole weekend. They needed to do something or there won't be anything this year. Live with it. what-khan.com This is their intro from the site: Welcome to What-Khan Game Convention! This year we would like you to join us as we introduce What-Khan to the Midwest's convention circuit on November 7 – 9th, 2014! The convention features historical and fantasy miniature gaming, collectible miniatures, role-playing, board gaming, and other events that cover the entire spectrum of adventure gaming. The best part is that What-Khan is being brought to you by the same staff who brought you Rock-Con!
The list I sent this to follows, please let others know about it. Everyone is BCC'd still don't like to send out email addresses if I don't have to. The Last Square used to sponsor the con and they closed their old storefront at the end of last year. Karl is now running it out of a small house on his property a few miles west of Madison. I saw him about a month ago and he said he was 'talking to' to the folks that run it, but those talks apparently didn't pan out. I suspect he wanted to sell the name to them and they can't afford it. This creates a real dilemma for me as I am a huge fan of Rock Con but I also wanted to attend Game Hole Con this year as it is gaining steam and closer to my home. I had intended to attend both (and run events at both), but this will mean having to pick one over the other. It's an interesting attitude to say 'Live With It'- I certainly can, but can What Khan survive if people opt for GameHoleCon over their event? I understand that What Khan is trying to make the most of a bad situation, but I want both to succeed. |

The Last Square is no longer in it's storefront? That's sad news. |

So it has now moved to the same dates as Fall In. That makes sense to someone. |

The weekend chosen is not ideal for everyone, but the alternative was to not have a convention this year. What Khan has a multi-year contract with the Sports Center that hosts the convention, and we will have next year's dates posted at this year's event. |

Makes me nervous that six weeks out and there are no specific events listed. Will the old gamemasters continue to support it? |
What Khan Convention | 29 Aug 2014 10:48 a.m. PST |
Actually, the convention is ten weeks out, not six. Games can be registered up through October 1st. |
