Which of the Ambush Alley expansion/sourcebooks do you like best, and why? Which one has the most interesting scenarios? |

I like "Bush Wars" the best. Enjoy them all, but with Bush Wars I get not only scenarios for the Rhodesian War, but many of the lesser known conflicts or actions on the continent covered in scenarios. If I had the $$$ and could keep myself focused I'd collect the forces needed for each of the scenarios. Hope this helps. Joe |

The Fallujah book is excellent! And also like Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan one). |

All of them are good, though my favorite is the one covering Somalia. |

Another vote for the Bush War book, there is an awful lot of detailed info in Ambush Valley so it is a close second. |

What do you want to play. If you want to play Nam scenarios you have to buy Ambush Valley whether Bush Wars is better written or not. ;-P I have most of them. Ambush Alley is an excellent source for Vietnam, especially for the beginner. Cold War Gone Hot is fun. I really liked the three "levels" of scenarios; Cold War Fears:- Based on the Russians are coming bogeyman stories; Cold War Realities:- Based on the Soviets actual capabilities and Cold War Fantasies:- Thinly disguised movie plot based scenarios: I have only skimmed Bush Wars but it also looks like a great source. I don't want to get to deeply into it because I know it will cost me a fortune. ;-P I would have to say that all of them are well writen and worth the price. Fatman |

The Fallujah one also has more detailed rules for clearing buildings which could be used in other theatres. Osprey are selling the supplements for £8.00 GBP each at the moment. ospreypublishing.com/force_on_force |

let me preface this by saying I don't play force on force nor do I really care for the rules. however I love their scenario books I don't on the brush Wars 1 I should probably buy that. the Vietnam but does not have many scenarios but it has a wealth of information on unit organizations some of which I have not seen before. Road to Baghdad is very good the first group of scenarios can be played almost as a mini campaign Enduring Freedom has a wealth of scenarios that seem to play pretty well and towards the end there are a lot of interesting ones that you wouldn't really expect, such as mine clearing and crowd control / find the bomber falluja is great for urban combat. classified has some pretty fun looking scenarios, mostly smaller units stuff if I remember correctly. the only one that I really cannot recommend is Cold War gone hot. this is just a personal view but I don't find that some of the scenarios are well balanced, but that's just my opinion and many people swear by it. as I said I do not own Bush wars but I'm planning on getting it sometime in the future. as a side note and a testament to the flexibility of these books I actually convert the scenarios for use in my colonial gaming. I can't recommend the majority of those products enough even though I do not particularly care for the rulebook itself. it was a great product it just wasn't my cup of tea. |

Sorry our rules weren't your cup of tea, Dobber, but I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed our scenario books! Our intent while writing them was that folks could get good use out of them even if they used a different set of rules to play them. It's nice to hear that we had some success in meeting that goal! Thanks again for your kind words! Best wishes, Shawn. |

Shawn, you have obviously put a lot of time and soul into creating a quality product and have, to my mind, succeeded. I'm just giving credit where its due. with especially poor grammar. I'm using my phone for this so apologies. I should also probably say that there is really nothing wrong with the rules I think I'm just too dense to figure some of them out, so I hope no one takes it to heart that I don't care for them and give them a try. also they are rather well supported. Shawn if you are ever in the Detroit metro area or close and running a game I would like to try it again, I still think I haven't figured out the action reaction thing |
