Is the Khurasan Miniatures "crew" still on vacation? Ive got an outstanding order thats almost a month old and that seems highly unusual for him. Is there an business email contact for them? My order is WWI figs so I suspect back order.

Still listed as traveling and that the store will re-open 'soon'.

My recent experience is that he provides an email confirmation of your order. When I replied to that message (several weeks later) he very kindly explained the delay (out of stock) and filled the order as soon as they were in.

His website shows that he is traveling out of town right now and will reopen as soon as he's back.

Keep in mind that he appears to be a one man show with a day job. In my opinion the minis are well done and worth the wait… even though my patience wore thin, as yours is doing… still worth the wait.

He always delivers. Like its been said he is a one man shop with a day job. Now hurry up and reopen, I want those Romans!

Yes they are worth the wait. After all they are just toys and we can wait a bit for our toys. Jon is a one man operation with a full time job and family commitments. Khurasan Minis is a side line that believe or not does not garner him a whole lot of extra cash for all the overhead and time that goes into the business. It is more a labor of love than anything else. He always comes through.

Thanks all. I was able to send an email from the paypal info..and Tiberius I have some of the Late Romans, fantastic figs..

Oh I have his Late Romans already. I want some of his new EIR.

Thanks to Mike Broadbent for letting me know about this thread. Yes, several things have prevented me from reopening.

Had some health issues and I'm still bouncing back from that.

Had some stock shortages that have been keeping me from fulfilling outstanding orders, and I don't want to reopen until I clear out at least some of the backlog (some of which have been waiting quite a long time to be fuilfilled). Between Historicon and Gencon, my casters have had lots of other commitments and so I had to wait for a while.

Summer is very hard for me -- day job gets busier and I have more personal commitments as well, so it's very hard to find the time to devote to Khurasan. But I'm hoping to clear away most of the backlog between now and Labor Day and reopen Tuesday. Thanks, and sorry to those of you still waiting for your orders.

(Good news is my wife told me I got a restock today which includes the Puritans (extra heavy power armour) which has been holding up about half of the outstanding orders….)

Jon, thanks for the heads up. Get better soon!

You must have a very interesting life running a growing and popular miniatures business and coping with your day job and private life. Don't know how you do it. Take care of yourself first. The rest of us will just have to wait our turn.

@khurasanminiatures: Would it be difficult for you to disable only your website's shopping functionality while you're away, but leave the rest of the site accessible?

That way, people could continue to browse your products, and plan future purchases or indicate to others which figures from your ranges might be suitable for representing contingent X of army Y.

You can always try the Khurasan Wayback Machine: link

It's not current, but it may help a bit.

Thanks, DL, I'll check it out.

Get a whiggle on Khurasanminiatures – first order with you and over a month now with no word other than a misleading closed shop sign is not doing you any favours in terms of future business from my direction.

McWong7302 Sep 2014 4:41 p.m. PST

Adam, I can assure you that Jon can be relied on. As a regular customer of Khurasan he may take a bit longer to get stuff to you, but you will get your kit.

Remember he's a one man band, and he should have an opportunity to enjoy the end of summer with his family like everyone else.

AdamRodgers03 Sep 2014 3:04 a.m. PST

Sorry McWong73, but as a one man band myself, who has failed for yet another year to get a holiday due to deaths and work commitments I cant fully agree. I give some leeway to small outfits and delays are expected to a degree, but the lack on real information as too time frames is not really excusable in this day and age imo. Leaving a more transparent and realistic message on the closed shop would have gone a long way to stopping any ill will and frustration. I've been contacted now, and an apology and compensation was awarded but 1 over 1 month just to get too a shipping status will keep me away from KM for a while.

I, for one, am grateful that Jon runs Khurasan Miniatures even if service can be slow at times. The reality is that the miniature gaming business is rarely profitable enough to create a full income for the proprietor, necessitating day jobs and one-man shops. The trade-off is that we get a wide variety of products--and, in the case of Khurasan, high-quality products.

Hi just got a question on Khurasan miniatures. How long do they take to respond to Emails? I send a email to them about a week ago inquiring about some out of stock tanks and they have not responded.
