Using this resource alone one could create an attention-getting Civil War (or Post-Apocalyptic?) scenario: Thong of the South. This reminds me of when, as a teacher to high school students, I tried to teach the Iliad. Somewhere in the early books one of the heroes fastens something with a thong. Snorts and titters would almost immediately break forth in the classroom, and the next five minutes were spent implementing various levels of damage control. Shortly after this the epic mentions how the Achaeans were on a quest for booty…and then I lost them entirely. |
