How does 15mm AB stand up to others such as Battle Honors, Old Glory and Minifigs in terms of size? |

So are the minis for AB actually 15mm or more 18mm. Several other sites suggest 18mm. |

I run some OG alongside AB in different units but on the same battlefield. I started my collections over 20 years ago and the AB line did not then include the Confed of the Rhine contingents that it does now so I had to use OG. I actually mounted my OG cavalry on AB horses (because what passed for horse in the OG line was laughable compared with the AB horses). I find they look fine in the same battle and on the same field. The OG poses are a bit odd at times but they're passable. I have replaced almost everything other than the OG with AB. I still have 3 battalions of BH Young Guard – nice figures but noticeably smaller. I still have some Minifigs SYW French Infantry that I use as second line for a SYW battle when I run out of OG or Eureka. Not good poses and much smaller, almost embarassed to use them frankly. AB are still the best IMHO. You only pay for them and paint them once and then you'll have them for … how long? |

ditto Mr Solomon's comments – the time to paint figures makes the higher cost for higher quality ABs easily worth it. |

Don't forget Blue Moon are very nice too. However, I think AB are the best. That said I mix all four companies (AB, BM, OG, BH) together in different units that is. I even have some older Mini Fig I use |

I agree with baxterj, the AB's certainly repay careful painting and are the best figures around. However, to keep costs down I also use OG, BM, CGM and Warmodelling figures. I did buy a pack of BH British rifles but they are very much smaller than the figures from other manufacturers. |

Allow me to be the voice of dissent in the minority. I do not particularly care for AB. The bayonets come off at but a glance, and the cavalry suffer from the curvy saber problem, same as BH. I will be collecting BM specifically, because of the sturdiness and durability of these figures. BTW, AB are still the best "looking" figure around. |

I never had any problems with bayonets – coming off at but a glance. AB excells not only in the sculpting skills – but also in the research – that makes them so outstanding. Sho Boki comes up with nice 18 mm as well. |

AB, nothing less will do. |

The only drawback with AB is the price, and since I paint slowly, I'm willing to pay it. Never had a problem with AB bayonets. Old Glory and Battle Honours yes; AB no. stephen |
