I was at the commemoration/reenactment of the Battle of Bladensburg this past Saturday. Almost all the British had come down from Canada. I just wanted to thank our Canadian friends for making the long trip and doing such a great job at educating folks about the War of 1812.

Strangely, there doesn't appear to be anything on YouTube yet.

I love Canadians. They're like Americans with a higher sanity quotient.

If you took any photos could you post them?

On behalf of Canadians, you're welcome! grin

I've always liked Robin Williams' quote about Canada:

I traveled on a "good will" tour through Canada with a hockey team from the Greater NYC Ice Hockey league back around 1966.

Have to admit that Canadians are rooted, down to earth people.
Just like we used to be.

All of the civilians were great. The teams, not so much. We lost every game by double digits and I left 4 molars in Saskatchewan courtesy of a "good will" butt end in the mouth.

Canuck hockey players will know this move.

When you line up for a face off, you wait until the ref drops the puck and you take the point of you stick and gently lift it up under the opponent cup, causing him several degrees of distress. Payback is indeed a bitch.

Take that, hoser. For sure.
