"The Russian-designed 6B47 helmet, made for ‘Ratnik' (‘Warrior') combat gear, is now undergoing testing that should be completed by the end of the year. The product, designed by the Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Building (TsNIITochMash), has no equivalents in the world.

According to Oleg Faustov, chief designer of military and combat equipment systems for TsNIITochMash, the new all-purpose military helmet is suitable not only for the infantry, but also for paratroopers and even special units.

The 6B47 helmet, produced by TsNIITochMash, will be part of Ratnik combat gear. "The helmet weighs only one kilogram. Even with all of its defensive attributes, the helmet weighs less than its American counterpart, which is smaller but weighs 1.5 kilograms," Oleg Faustov explained to the newspaper VPK…"
