I've been camping in Normandy for a few days and visited the beautiful American cemetery at St James.

As we walked around I noticed a row of headstones with the same date and unit, the 379th Bombardment Group, 526th Bombardment Squadron. I guessed that these represented a single B17 crew, so when I got returned I did some googling:

If anyone knows more about this or, even better, has a photo of the aircraft or crew, I'd be very interested.

Interesting. I bet that radio operator who evaded capture from September '43 to December '44 had a story to tell!
