Hi folks, I've been collecting German armour for 1942-1943, the fifty shades of panzer grey years, and was wondering which Ausführung would be correct for the Pzkw II during this period. To run with Panzer IIIJ. |

At that period, mostly Ausf.F Early versions (Ausf.B to C) are still around, but on the Pz-Div send to Stalingrad, the Ausf.F will be the most common Faustnik |

Thanks Faustnick….. Any recommendations re 1/72 kits? |

The old Matchbox kit was a good model, but 1/76. SHQ do one, but I haven't seen it. Their stuff is usually ok. MMS only make the updated C which has the cupola instead of split hatch for the commander and the appliqué armour to bring it up to F standard. All the early models that survived France were updated to this standard. Early War Miniatures should have one. IIRC they have the old Skytrex line. It wasn't a great model from my recollection. |

I liked the look of the S models one, but it's a C….. Early war minis do an F, but I m not a resin fan. I might go with the C and be done with it. Then I can double up for early war. I only need four of em anyway. Or I might just wait and see what turns up. I've got quite a backlog to get through already! Thanks for the advice guys. |

If you only want 4 and money is not tight then the MMS updated C is a good bet. There were still some around into '43. It is a lovely model and all metal. |

Just to complete the thread, I have discovered that Italeri do a 1/72 Pz II F which will be quite adequate for Wargaming…… It's overpriced at rrp, but will do me nicely when the sales arrive. Usual chaotic Italeri distribution. Thanks for all the input chaps. |

Yes, it's the old Esci, hence overpriced at rrp! :-) |
