… Changer In An Increasingly Tense East Asia.

"China is in the process of developing its own native fifth-generation fighter to compete with the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, and Russia's T-50.

Although China has been secretive about the exact specifications of the aircraft, experts are warning that the plane could be a game-changer in East Asia's potentially fragile security environment.

Unlikely. As long as China is still copying rather than developing their own systems then they are going to have problems. Once they understand and have the expertise to invent, develop and build equivalent or better home-grown systems – that will be the game changer.

I think that time will come within the next 20 years, just not yet.

Nah, the Chinese can still copy and get a game-changer, but not until they figure out quality control and quality assurance. The Chinese-made engines on the J11 last about 30 hours, while the Russian-made engines on the Su27 last about 400. Americans complain about aircraft engines that 'only' last 1500 hours, preferring 2000-3500 hours between overhauls!

It is a very nice painting.

I'm going with the quote… it flew two hours before SUCCESSFULLY landing… have there been others, not so successful???? Not a game changer if they cannot land without major repairs.

Okay, so who is going to produce some 1/600th Chinese stealth jets, and American ones to oppose them, first, in metal?
