So I have faithfully bought Boys ATRs for my 28mm lead lads over the years, but have never used them in action (I haven't played in an early war scenario where they were used), but plan to at some point. That could be a bit of gaming fig leaf, but I found this interesting WWII training video on these weapons produced by Disney. It starts with a cartoon and the gets serious at the 3:20 mark. YouTube link Pretty interesting stuff. So how does this compare to Boys ATR usefulness in your games? Lost Pict |

That animation is quite cute, especially with the bouncy tanks advancing. As for the Boys, it was not exactly amongst the best anti-tank rifles when it came to actual armour penetration capacity. |

The problem is that targets they can actually affect are not targets gamers like to include :) A boys at not-too-long range would be a nice threat for armoured cars, half tracks and similar and at close range could bother 1940 Panzers too. Not a huge chance but enough to be cause concern. Of course, most gamers would rather fill the table with more tanks :) |

Small and highly portable. My Dad would have found that funny. |
