Hi all, Some mates and I have just started a Traveller New Era role playing campaign, and I've started collecting appropriate 15mm figures for representing our respective PCs/NPCs. As one of our NPC crew members is an Hiver specimen, I've been trying to find an appropriate figure to represent --with the poor result you can imagine. I've learnt that Ral Partha made an Hiver figure some decades ago --a pretty nice one, as for the pictures I've happened to find. Does anyone have one such figure and is unwilling to keep it any longer? Or, does anyone have an unused Hiver figure he'd like to trade? Or even, what would you otherwise do to represent such an exotic race? Thanks, Lluís |

Would this work? (with some bending)

The Hiver mini was made by Grenadier, not Ral Partha. I had one many years ago, I wqsn't overly fond of it. It was also in true-25mm scale, still too big for modern 15/18s, but too small for the current scale creep. The ones shown by MrHarold are too skinny and limbs too long for the "official" Hiver look, but would make a great substitute anyways (besides, they are YOUR Hivers and can look any way you want them too.) I am unaware of anything better out there, short of sculpting your own (which I have considered.) For other Hiver needs, I think the space raptor Chuhuacs would make great Ithklur, keeps them from seeming too humanish. |

The Hiver mini was made by Grenadier, not Ral Partha. True, you're right – I mistook the brand name. |

I don't think Ral Partha ever did a Hiver in any scale, nor did Citadel. Here's the Grenadier one-piece 25mm Hiver:
RAFM also did a 25mm version, in pack 5853 Technos (2 identical Hivers and 1 Human): link The Hivers are two-part body-and-"head" castings. A Hiver would be one of the easier Traveller minis to sculpt, if you have any skill in that area. Here's one I found online:

Khurasan's site is offline at the moment for travelling, but he does have this pack, and the second on the left, top row, might work (specially if you only need one):

Here's the Grenadier one-piece 25mm Hiver So is this a 25mm figure? Oh cr*p, I'd have loved having one such if 15mm… Khurasan Sci-Fi range is plainly excellent, but for one I'd better choose the Battlestations not-hiver miniatures set --closer to the kind of Hiver we've got in mind… Lots of thanks for your suggestions, Sirs. Yes, both the Grenadier and RAFM Hivers are 25mm-28mm. I'd like to see a 15mm Hiver, too. |

Lluis of Minairons the answer is no in 15mm…. The Grenadier one is 25mm in the old sense of the word. And the RAFM on is 28mm. |

Nope, no 15mm. And none in 6mm either – and that bugs the dickens out of me :( |

GW did a 15mm traveler in the early days you might check feebay |

Citadel/GW did a large and well sculpted range of 15mm Traveller minis, including Vargr, Aslan, and Droyne ( link ), but no Hiver: link |

I have a lot of RAFM's miniatures, there really nice, I can use them for all my gaming needs, do wish they would come out with more of the Travellers race ranges. |

Good catch, infojunky. I'd forgotten that RAFM was producing them now, and had even expanded the line a bit. |
