Well, more like half a face:
link This is what it looks like when that side is "mirrored":

link link link QUESTION: Does anyone know how to do a similar "fleshing out" of a full face, by mirroring the visible side of something? Are there any simple programs that can do that? Thanks, Dan |
jpattern2 | 20 Aug 2014 8:16 p.m. PST |
Dead-easy, even using a simple program like Paint. Grab the half-face, copy it, flip the copy either horizontally or vertically, and paste it beside the original. It took me longer to type that than it does to do it. |

Paint can do that!?!? Woohoo!!! Thanks so, so much, Dan |

That's clearly a tiki, proving that tike drinks, tiki bars, and tiki music are, as I'd hoped, ubiquitous in this end of the galaxy. I note a tiny straw with an umbrella on it in the corner of that photo; I'm surprised you missed that. |

Some plaster has fallen off a wall in my basement. From the right angle on the right light light it looks like a Spartan head wearing a Pilos helmet. Or not. |

Who knows, it might be from a Martian temple from before the planet got whacked by that giant meteor. It kinda looks like it has Matthew Broderick eyes…. |

If it was something like this, I would be jumping around, all ecstatic like a little kid:
But with "Martian" heads, of course:
Or heads like that of the alien within Ra in the original Stargate film:
Even these other Egyptian-like examples might work:

You do realize we trained from being a baby to look for faces, we all want to see moms face. It's human nature. I get this all the time when I do ultrasounds. Anyone looking at the screen sees eyes and nose and mouth, and I am usually scanning a liver. We want to see a face. The more human the more at ease we are. Which is scarier the face of a kitten or a spider? A rabbit or a hawk? A human or an ape? |

WOW!! After seeing that on the dollar! I for one welcome our new alien overloads, from here on out anything that goes wrong is all their fault and mankind has nothing to do with it Right!? in the mean time I'll have to high light all my dollar bills just to freak people out! :D |

Pareidolia is a type of apophenia, seeing patterns in random data. - From pareidolia article. Any data set that exists has an infinite number of patterns in it. Part of that statement is why jpegs (pretty much the overwhelming majority of all pictures you see online) work, specifically, why their data can be compressed. Same goes for mpegs and streaming media formats. |

etotheipi, Those tiki mug idols are beautiful. I've a zillion or so of those plastic tikis and never realized their potential before, I am profoundly ashamed to say. We may need a separate tiki wargaming forum. |

Lol Guys, has anyone come across better pics of these giant marble statues from the original Blade film?
link Those 2 are the only images I've found, and they aren't very detailed. The same with this clip: link Thanks, Dan |

I thought the clip did rather well; sort of Rivendell style, methinks. Seems others believe they were neo-romantics.
