Maybe someone can save me some online research here… I've got likely 80% of the WW1 Wing Of War (Nexus) products – most of the planes and I think all of the box sets – Watch Your Back, Flight Of The Giants, etc. I even have a balloon somewhere. Played a little, not much – but kind of re-discovered them when cleaning the basement tonight. So yeah, easily enough to play but I'm a bit of a completionist…so not sure I want to open this Pandora's Box. Question is – were the planes that were rare the first time around still rare or were they re-printed by Area Games ? Sure a True Completionist would insist on a Nexus model but I'm not quite that picky. I seem to recall some large bombers just before the new owners took over – are they still available (with a new brand of course) ? I suppose my 'real' question is, is this a viable, supported system ? Will there be new releases or enough 'new to me' to help maintain interest ? And yeah, I know the common response – I've got enough to play so be happy with that. It's just that I know where this path leads (what do you mean I don't have a Fokker Triplane…hello Ebay…) and I will be spending more if I start playing again. I'm just wondering how much more – MSRP at a games store or high auction prices. Oh, one other possibly relevant fact – I really enjoy X-Wing which maybe makes this whole question moot. Maybe I just stay with that. Conversely, I'm staying well away from Star Trek Attack Wing due mainly to the 'exclusives' and poor quality models (at least when compared to X-Wing). Thoughts, comments, sage words of advice ? |

I am a completionist and have, I believe, every WWI craft, box or set except the reprint dual boxes that Ares did (and the expansion card sets as well). They appear to keep on supporting the game and it is played a bit- just a bit less than Star Wars (I'm a completionist for that too, but that's another story…) It is live and active, but I gather that it's quite a bit more live and active in Europe than here in the US. Ares has massive tournaments in Europe and they look like a blast. The most recent wave came out a couple of months back, and I haven't seen them announce a new wave yet. (They have to be running out of planes soon, though I'd still like to see a British Bomber)… Anyone have word on a new wave? Otherwise, I'm hoping the game gains a boost as the centennial of WWI continues. |

Quick question… In X-Wing, you typically want more than one ship (for most models at least). Not a problem (except for the wallet) as they are all available. Is that true in WoW/G ? I seem to recall being quite happy playing one on one or more accurately, with unique aircraft. I won't have any 'need' to start tracking down duplicates, will I ? |

The Ares planes are quite available and you can find them for decent prices in the Aerodrome store as well as numerous other retailers, both online and brick & mortar. aerodromeaccessories.com Second, I highly recommend joining the Aerodrome forum, you will find that Wings of War/Glory is quite alive. Ares has been releasing new aircraft as well as re-releasing the old Nexus ones. If you do join the forum, please use predhead as your referrer. :) link |

The Fokker D.VII just became commercially available, and my first is on its way to my home right now. I realize WoW had them, back in the day, but it's only now that Ares is catching up with this particular plane. So I'm seeing growth in directions that capture my interest. What could be better? |

Where can one find just the decks without the planes? Is that even available? |
Ceterman | 21 Aug 2014 8:49 a.m. PST |
Jefritrout, I have some WW1 decks, boxes, stands etc. cause I just bought them for the AC themselves. I've took them to H-con flea mkt & sold some. I still have some. What are you looking for? Peter |

As to large planes, I saw the 2 Gotha models in 'Travelling Man' in Newcastle upon Tyne today! |

And I just picked up the OOP yellow barrage balloon that my FLGS still had in stock… the journey begins again,,, I did notice there was no shortage of individual (Ares) planes. Just have to take inventory of what I already have first. Oh, and maybe actually play a game… |
