I finished my slaver tripod a few days ago, but now I needed something for it to command. So, time for some drones!

picture

The drones were actually quite a challenge to assemble. Each one comes with seven small and very detailed pieces. I had to use modeling clay to hold the pieces in place so I could glue them.

Once assembled, I painted them just like I did the tripods. There was no way to fit an actual light into something this small, but the day-glow paint on the ‘eye' worked almost as well.

The drones are armed with light heat rays.

And the terrifying reaper tentacles!

All in all, a fine addition to the Martian host.

Are they plastic or metal?

Metal.

I'll have 15 more drones and 9 stands of lobototons for your slaver to control in tomorrow's game.

Might be an overload on the poor Martian!

I didn't know the drones were available. ….

I'm awaiting my big box of second wave stuff that will include a big lot of drones, both legged and hover (plus my danged Slaver Tripod). Can't wait!

Outstanding. What company makes the doughboy casualties?

Buckaroo21 Aug 2014 9:05 a.m. PST

Scott,

Looks great!
have you gotten a game in yet?
I'm a little disappointed in their stats.
As far as I can tell three drones has the same firepower as 1 element of HMGs.

Second on the Casualties, where are they from?

ScottWashburn Sponsoring Member of TMP21 Aug 2014 9:36 a.m. PST

The casualties are from Blue Moon. They are a tad bigger and huskier than the Alien Dungeon figures and they aren't wearing their gas masks, but they have a nice selection of poses that I'm using to add some variety and for special purposes like this.

And no, I haven't actually played in a game yet. :) So far I've just observed and helped with the rules and taken pictures. We have a big game planned for tonight and perhaps I'll roll a few dice.
