I've always thought 15mm was just a bit small for me to paint! After having a week off from well almost everything hobby wise, I decided to have a bit of a clear out! Well I found my DBA rules and this package of Egyptians. Well I gave painting them ago and here are some of the results
its one heck of a change from 25/28mm. I'm almost happy with them so its on to the chariots next! So thanks for looking Cheers Russ |

Very nice. Are you dipping figures or using a wash? |

Thanks sillypoint, they are all done with washes. I've not tried dipping yet, but I like washes due to the control you get with them. Some are done using citadel washes and some are just thinned down paint. To be honest I've rather surprised how nice they have painted up considering I really didn't think I could cope with painting figures that small. |

I think you've done a great job. I hate some Essex Biblicals years ago; they paint up nicely. |

Nice looking figures! Essex do hold paint well. They also have the right amount of detail (not too much not too little) making them very easy to paint. |

They are very nicely done. An amateur question – would the weapons not be bronze? |
oldbob | 21 Aug 2014 11:52 a.m. PST |
I agree with the "joker", they always seemed easy to paint. |

Rhysius Cambrensis, your right they should be bronze! I will correct it before I varnish and base them Who asked the joker and oldbob, I must admit I'm kind of sold on these little fellas. They may the first 15mm I've done but I don't think they will be last, and to think I didn't think I could paint anything that small! |

They always seem to be very clean castings without too many under cuts. I once was going to paint just 10 eastern horse archers, a one piece casting. I ended up painting 50 of them, they just seemed to be fun to paint, and their still very popular on the war game tables! Sorry didn't mean to imply you should have breezed through them while at Tea. Myself I have a devil of a time painting Perry's 28mm metal figures still! |

Oldbob i can't believe I had completely forgot about them, and don't worry you didnt imply anything. I think I'm kind of in shock that I've managed to paint 15mm at all. I really didn't think my poor old eyes could cope or ever forgive me. I think my attitude has changed about 15mm and I'm sure they won't be the last I paint, and to be honest I struggle with perrys 28mm as well. |
