In this time of international tumult and distress, and bad blood between various internet gaming sites that are far overblown…

What is the newest figure or figures or units that have graced your gaming table?

Sunday, I supplied 3 small companies of Good Guys for a Flames of War game roughly based on Crete.
I painted 5 full platoons of ANZAC infantry, a HMG platoon and a mortar platoon. I think my 6 MkVI-B "tanks" also made their debut. Good thing I have a LOT of 8th Army in tin hats as proxies to salt in.

Figures were Quality Castings, now made by Old Glory 15s, or 19th Century Miniatures.
I got my first packs about … 6 years ago? and epturner gave me the rest.
Another case of having figures a long time and suddenly I have 2 weeks to supply an "army" for 3 players.
Now they are done!

Among the first purchases I made for FoW about 7 years ago were Bofors 40mm AA guns. They made their second appearance. grin After the first, about 5 months ago, I drilled out a few holes and magnetized the turntable.

ironicon20 Aug 2014 12:35 p.m. PST

I just finished a 16 man milita unit for my AWI project. So far I've completed a 16 man unit of continentals, a unit of 10th British, and the militia. Worked on them over the last 2-3 months.
I'm useing a 1 man equals 20 men ratio.
The militia and continentals are Perry metal figs. and the 10th are plastic Perrys.
The militia could also be early war Americans.

BCantwell20 Aug 2014 12:48 p.m. PST

I'm currently working on 10 Artizan Plains Infantry for use with Dead Man's Hand. Also currently painting the first unit of Rough Riders for All Quiet on the Martian Front.

Most recent finished products to roll off the table were 5 old west figures to use in our first game of Dead Man's hand and the first unit of infantry for AQotMF.

JonFreitag20 Aug 2014 12:49 p.m. PST

For me, the latest unit off the painting table was the British 83rd Foot soon to see action in the Peninsular War.

My most recent figure is a wizard I painted at Reaper's speed painting contest at GenCon.

Rrobbyrobot20 Aug 2014 12:50 p.m. PST

I have a 1/48th scale Opel Blitz that finally made an appearance in a couple of games of Bolt Action in the past two weeks. Towing guns both times.
Tomorrow I'll be fielding a JS2 with it's new Dshk. I just got finished scratch building a commander's mount for the weapon.

Cadian 7th20 Aug 2014 1:03 p.m. PST

I'm still recovering from training, but in between I've been prepping for this winter's painting challenge. I've prepped and primered a host of GW figures and tanks, Perry French, Warlord WW2 GIs, and Zomcide and WGF Survivors and Zombies.
New to my home are a host of villains, supers, and minions from Crossover Miniatures and a whole lot of 15mm SciFi from Khursan, GZG, Rebel Minis, and others. The later is for an Alien Legion meets BladeRunner meets 5th Element type not- grimdark skirmish.
To Quote the Stark's, " Winter is coming".
My wife has forbidden krylon in the house. I have to get everything ready before the weather gets too cold for further prepping! ;)

Col Durnford20 Aug 2014 1:19 p.m. PST

Thanks to Phil Keaman of Outland of PA. from this years Historicon, I have just about completed a platoon of RalPartha Bashi Bazouk infantry as well as one early war Egyptian for my Sudan collection.

After they are complete I have some 20mm American Civil War troops standing by.

I put a new unit of German armor on the table for my last game – 6 brand new Pz IIIs (L,M&N), 3 Pz IVg and a pair of StuG f/8. I am currently adding to my collection of German AT guns.

Than, on to the Napoleonic Portuguese artillery!

Who asked this joker20 Aug 2014 1:35 p.m. PST

Italeri British 8th army for me. They have not actually made it to the gaming table but they are the newest and shiniest. I have to say, I have not actually gamed with MY miniatures in quite a long time.

B6GOBOS20 Aug 2014 1:37 p.m. PST

Started my favorite period American Revolutionary war. Gates/Greene's army and Cornwallis army 1780-81 at 10:1 scale. Just completed British 33rd and two battalions 71st highlanders as well as light infantry battalion and Guards light and grenadier companies. The 4th and 5th Virginia continentals and a militia battalion are getting based now. Primed and ready are the 1st and 2nd Maryland continentals and 23rd welch fusiliers as well as both Guards battalions.
Now if someone would buy the rest of my franco prussian army I can buy more figures from Fife and drum, perry and kings mountain miniatures!

Bushy Run Battlefield20 Aug 2014 1:40 p.m. PST

Mine are a unit of 28mm French Foreign Legion lancers for the 1st Carlist War.

Bombshell Miniatures Counterblast Edo Faction. Finished them yesterday.

If ships count, finishing up an Old Glory French 80 gun ship in 1/300 scale.

redbanner414520 Aug 2014 1:43 p.m. PST

I just finished mounting my WWII British but they hacven't made it to the table yet.

Glengarry520 Aug 2014 1:46 p.m. PST

Copplestone and Foundry Darkest Africa figures, Baluchi's, German marines and askiri. Next are Watutu and tribal warriors with muskets.

The Beast Rampant20 Aug 2014 1:51 p.m. PST

Having been otherwise finished for a couple of weeks, I just yesterday got around to popping a banner on my 15mm HotT "Saxhünd" army. I hope to post pics within a week.

I'm working on a core of 28mm Old Glory 16thC "sea dog & Spaniard" types for an eventual campaign in the Caribbean. They are skirmish-based, but I will ultimately buy or (most likely) make some sabot bases to use them for Irregular Wars or The Perfect Captain's rules.

Some 15mm Essex English demi-lancers to (finally!) finish the core phase of my IW Elizabethan English. Little Bleeped texts took forever to show up, and I'm taking forever to get back around to them. I started and finished the aforementioned HotT army in the interim.

Also, some 15mm Splintered light "Redwallesque" critters for my next HotT-style army. In the opening stages for some time now. Although I am very keen to see them painted, I am for some reason willing to work on anything else.

But if the OP's meaning was "the table with the dice and scenery", and not "the table with the pots and brushes", nothing anytime recently!

The Beast Rampant20 Aug 2014 1:53 p.m. PST

Hm. I didn't know that was bleep-worthy.

If ships count…

I, for one, say they do! grin

War Panda20 Aug 2014 1:53 p.m. PST

I bought some 28mm Vikings and Irish for Saga very recently …I quite ashamed because I chickened out and bought them painted :( …I've had them on the table already but no actual game as yet…

Tom Reed20 Aug 2014 1:55 p.m. PST

I've been working on some assorted Khador units for Warmachine. Warcaster, assassins, Shocktroopers, snipers, and riflemen, all in various stages.

Bashytubits20 Aug 2014 2:09 p.m. PST

I am working on a 28mm Norman army for sword and spear rules.

sillypoint20 Aug 2014 2:09 p.m. PST

Trojan War skirmish 120 figures, 17 chariots…. :)
We have a belief that new units on the table perform very badly, (Green Troops?) anyway they are expected to be the first to rout.

wrgmr120 Aug 2014 2:16 p.m. PST

Calpe Prussian artillery 8 batteries of them. That's 16 guns and 64 figures.

Rogzombie Fezian20 Aug 2014 2:20 p.m. PST

A bunch of Reaper fantasy for selling painted and some Hasslefree for my modern games.

I am doing a battalion showing it giving platoon fire of the Prussian SYW I.R. 40 in 28mm with Black Hussar figures. Waiting in the wings is a wagon from Minden. Will probably divert to either more 10mm SYW/WSS or 28mm Western items before I start back on more 28mm Prussians from Black Hussar. (Really enjoyable figures to paint.)

Doug MSC Supporting Member of TMP20 Aug 2014 2:55 p.m. PST

I just finished 8 mounted Welsh, 8 mounted men-at-arms and a 16 man unit of Welsh foot which I thru into the battle we had a week ago. They were all 40mm Vanguard Men-at-Arms figures. Had fun painting them.

Arrrrrrrrrr

Char B1 bis20 Aug 2014 3:22 p.m. PST

28mm Post Apoc figs. A total break from my usual 10mm historical fare. And at the same time "gasp" Heroclix.
I have a nephew who needs something to do in his spare time, and I thought superhero gaming might be his thing.
Speaking of which anybody know of some game rules I could use Heroclix with besides Heroclix that are easily learned?

Thanks

Pat

*Sigh*

Due to continued eye problems, I can't paint figures. Though I did add the latest X-Wing fighter wave to my gaming table.

I was able to paint up some space terrain, though: link

Rocks, at least, I can still see.

Centurian20 Aug 2014 3:28 p.m. PST

Well, not strictly miniatures – but I have a whole city block of Crescent Root Studio buildings ready. They look great too, IMHO!

I have a battery of US Priests, and a platoon of German Tiger IIs (both Battlefront/FOW), nearly ready. We're in the midst of home improvements, which has put a stop to my painting and gaming :(

Privateer4hire20 Aug 2014 3:28 p.m. PST

Vickers HMG platoon for Flames of War: Great War.

SpuriousMilius20 Aug 2014 3:29 p.m. PST

The last minis that I finished & used in a game were Tarzan, European renegades, lions, great apes & crocs (& other critters) to complement the Waziri, askari, La & her Oparians in the "Larger Than Life" game that I ran for Texicon in June.

GarrisonMiniatures20 Aug 2014 3:33 p.m. PST

Well, the last figures I actually bought were a load of 45 year old Minifigs 'S' Range.

KSmyth20 Aug 2014 4:02 p.m. PST

Just finished 25 Front Rank Butler's Rangers I want to use for some semi-skirmish gaming. I've had them for about 23 years, so I figured it was time to put some clothes on 'em.

Glenn M20 Aug 2014 4:02 p.m. PST

I've been collecting and painting my Relic Knights stuff lately. Good times

Pictors Studio20 Aug 2014 4:17 p.m. PST

Now it is a Combined army Cadmus and Gwailos.

Escaping (I hope) civilians for All Quiet on the Martian Front and Vikings.

Henry Martini20 Aug 2014 6:11 p.m. PST

Painting some bases of finished figures and a few special bits and pieces for this coming Sunday's cinematic multi-player 'A Good Day to Die' Mexican Revolution skirmish game.

Next up will be a couple of projects sourced from the on-site lead/plastic mountain storeroom: a Pictish army for Dux Bellorum, and a Fireforge plastic 13th century retinue for Lion Rampant.

BrotherSevej20 Aug 2014 6:31 p.m. PST

Last week I finished a Space Marine Rhino and 2 ettins from Descent 2nd edition.

nevinsrip21 Aug 2014 2:11 a.m. PST

Just got 50 different Over Mountain Men that I had painted by a professional painter. Oh, my goodness! Amazing what a talented painted can do to a figure.
He's painting my Continentals and Dragoons right now.
Converged Delaware/Marylanders for Cowpens.

The suspense is killing me.

28mm Napoleonic Spanish (these are actually the Victrix 1805 French painted Spanish; the grenadiers are metal figures I think from Elite)

COL Scott ret21 Aug 2014 4:24 a.m. PST

On the table……

…. nothing that would count as recent, but I did bring out some new to me Napoleonic British dragoons for a game with youngsters. The game ended before they could get into the action so not blooded yet.

Karellian Knight21 Aug 2014 5:21 a.m. PST

My latest are pre-painted Kaiju from Japan for recent games of Mighty Monsters. Although I did scratch-build and paint the destroyed buildings.
