I have 2 desert mats and really like them.

I was so pleased I tried to stock them but I Mat O'war went quiet on me…

Yup.

Used one for 7 years.

Brill… but I would say that as I helped my mate test them when he first got them. I also came up with the brand name!

Drove my car over mine to test its durability.

I have one. It's not cloth. It's apparently resin imprenated with flock.

It's not very flexible. It will work fine if you're going to just lay it flat and place hills on top of it, but it won't work very well if you're going to try to place hills underneath it.

Mine came from the UK in a square box, folded up. The creases have never completely gone away, despite laying flat on my dedicated wargames table for months on end.

If you order and they offer an option to ship in a tube, I'd reommend that even if it costs more.

.

That's a pity. Placing hills underneath is one of the main attractions of using a mat.

I agree, and I'd hoped to be able to do that.

I did run it through the washing machine one time to see if that would sofen it. I didn't notice a difference. I was then too scared to run it through again or to try it on a less declicate setting.
