What unit can be painted up with these figures from the Front Rank SYW French Range SYF 46 through 49? Are they meant to be a specific unit? The fur edging on the officer's coat is puzzling. Thanks for any assistance. Joe |

Grassin's Légion of the Fontenoy battle 1745? |

No, they are nothing like the Grassins. Only the officer has a fur edging to his coat; the men have a plain coat with collar and buttons. Legion Royale, perhaps, but I don't think they have the pointed cuffs and waistsash. It's difficult to see the detail on the website photos. I guess they are a generic figure rather than a specific unit. |

The cut of the coat – short, straight around, no tails – suggests the Chasseurs de Fischer infantry at the end of the 7YW. They also wore tri-corns at that time. But perhaps someone can ask Front Rank who they are to be. GdeP |

With a bit of work, add turnbacks, lace or buttons Volontaires du Hainaut Chasseurs de Cambefort Fusiliers de Montagnes Cheers Matt |
