Hi, we have been using "the great war" (warhammer derivative)and have never encountered the issue of both sides having air support in the past as we have been using scenarios. however last weekend we tried a game where everyone brought their own forces ergo we hit the problem of everyone having planes. the issue arose that we figured that planes would engage each other rather than ground targets despite that being their mission. how do we resolve this. jon |

Simple dice roll? Assume that if two players both bring aircraft, one side drives the other off then attacks following move? – not this move as it's busy driving off the enemy. Obviously the above assumes that both sides are roughly equal – though again that is probably the easiest way to do it anyway. |

Other option is that if aircraft are over the table simultaneously, both aircraft leave the field. It all depends on how you call your air support. If random then this method works ok. If at players discretion then a random selection of successful aircraft is the best bet. Cheers GrumpyOldMan |

cheers, the issue we had was that two of the four players had air cover as a part of there force and during the random event phase we pulled the card for a plane to do d6 sorties, then a few moves later the other pack of cards gave up the same card. so we had four planes over the board and we all agreed it looked more like an air display than anything else, everyone saw the funny side but agreed we should come up with a way to stop this from happening again. so thought I'd see what you guys suggest. jon |

I solve that issue by only engaging the enemy in extremely bad weather; preferably sandstorms! |

Always seems to be lovely weather in Britain when my friends and elations go there. When I go the only day it doesn't rain is the day it snows…in May! So, I suspect sandstorms next visit I make! |

Last time I was in London I'm sure I recall a sandstorm or two. Certainly wouldn't have left the place any worse. Fewer sandstorms up north. Must be why I preferred it there. |
