If I crosspost my lovely post goes to the front page under a secondary listing. Please change this so the originally selected area of discussion is where the front page displays it |

I have never understood why people obsess over crossposting. And I HATE the software that "all the other Kool Kids" use. |

I don't think cross-posting should be allowed at all. People have the ability to turn on the boards they want to see. Post to the proper board and those that are interested will see it. There's no reason why I need to see your same post three times. Its generally not that interesting and it just takes up space. |

> There's no reason why I need to see your same post three times. TMP4 should be able to get rid of the multiple postings, a crosspost should be a single post that shows up in 4 different spots. Have to strongly disagree with the being able to post to the proper board. Is this a WWII X/Y/ or Z topic? If it is a Command Decission (or FOW) battle report it should be possible to link it to battle reports and CD/FOW. |

The only thing I want from TMP 4 that it has a mobile version as the current site is bad for viewing on a tablet or mobile phone. |

TMP4 should be able to get rid of the multiple postings, a crosspost should be a single post that shows up in 4 different spots. How is this different than cross-posting? In fact, it is unlikely that a post cross-posted to three other boards actually has four instances. There is probably only one, and it is listed in four places when you ask for the topic from those boards. If there were four instances, it would be a nightmare to keep track of who posted what where both from the poster side (which potential boards do I want my reply to show up in?) and the TMP software side (how do I synch all four instances? what do I do when things unravel?). |

What's wrong with cross-posting? Some topics are relevant to more than one board. And if you read the thread in one board, it will be marked as read on the others. |

Cross-posting happens because there are too many related boards. You need cross-posting because if you ask a WWII question you want to make sure that all the members who only look at the FOW board and only look at the Command Decision board etc… will see your post, just in-case they may have the answer to your inquiry or has a good comment to make. |

If you run a blog, you would want to post in the blog board and also the board that the post relates to, such as WWII battle report or game design or terrain etc. It may be more useful to simply put a limit on how many times a post can be cross posted.two seems a little tight, but it might encourage a more focussed approach by the poster |

The only thing I want from TMP 4 that it has a mobile version as the current site is bad for viewing on a tablet or mobile phone. I must respectfully disagree: The main thing I want from TMP 4 is that it either lacks a mobile version, or allows a me to permenantly opt out if it has one. I have never seen a mobile site that wasn't horrid for my iPhone: slowdowns, crashes, locked viewing areas with no zooming or scrolling (good luck reading or selecting small text), and lacking important features are common problems for mobile sites. I actually find this site both functional and user friendly on this mobile device, aside from its slightly slower speed compared to my PC, and its tendancy to repeatedly reload the homepage when opening multiple windows/tabs. |

I have never understood why people obsess over crossposting. Crossposting is a function of too many boards. I want to post on say the FIW. So I post on the 18thC Board, the AWI Board and the 7YW Board to make sure it gets answered. If we only had an 18thC Board this would not be necessary. |

Due to board proliferation, cross posting is pretty much a given. If your post is relevant both to the "12.5mm Stargrunt" board AND the "12.5mm scifi using rules published by Ground Zero Games" board, you have a pickle :) |
