So as I have mentioned I'm doing airsoft,

And I was thinking it might be cool to make a miniature of me?

If I take sevral pictures of my self in the gear from sevral sides.

How much would it cost to get a sculptur to do a one off and get it made?

It would be cool to have a miniature in my gear, my vest, my rifle ect.
Preferaly one that has done modern before. Like who ever does Eureka moderns or Empress miniatures.

Might be easier to get a render from photos and have it rapid prototyped. Those results would be more realistic and generally less kind mind you :)

Depends on the scale, the complexity of the model and some other circumstances. I do take 20mm modern commissions, yet it seems to me as if you´re looking for 28mm figures. Can do that as well, but at a substentially higher rate as it requires more work.
For a 28mm figures expect to pay at least 100 USD unless you´re lucky and strike a bargain.

If you´re interested in discussing details you may contact me at info [ at ]enfilade-figures. com

I generally tell people expect to pay $10 USD/mm for the sculpt. You can get them cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

Ask Steve Barber. He has good rates, and is usually willing to sculpt specific people/"portraits."

If cost is no object, then your options open up. A rapid prototype works, too, if you only want one figure.

You might also look into just getting the head sculpted, so you can add it to whichever body your prefer. (Get multiple copies, so you can insert yourself into many genres.)

Well, when mommies and daddies love each other verrrry much…

You are probably going to pay a sculptor about $300 USD if you want a good figure done in 28mm.

if by "get it made" you want multiple lead copies of it then you will at least need a master mold made of the sculpt. You can possibly get the sculptor to split the mold cost with you so you are only paying for 1/12 or so of a master mold, say another $20 USD or less.

Then if you want to make a production mold with 12 copies of the master in it that will be another $100 USD or so.

I think they've already done you in 2mm!

Or you could get a good plastic surgeon to make you look like an existing miniature.

Well I don't care about the face, it's more to get the exact uniform/vest and gun.

Don't have to look like me in the face.

I've wanted to get a bunch of "me-heads" for conversions ever since I saw Kev Dallimore's versions of himself years ago: link

How cool is that? And the dude can paint, too, dangit.

An episode on The Big Bang was based on thi idea IIRC Howad got into big trouble with his wife as he used too much money to buya3D printer Based on Pictor's comments ( $300 USD for 1 -28mm) there may be some more accuracy in that episode then expected
