Hi all,

Following on from my previous Assyrian post, I've put together my first division for Hail Caesar:

and some more pictures on the blog: link

Does anyone recognise the metal commander and guard figure, by any chance? I have checked Newline and Irregular, but they're not from those sources, so if anyone recognises them, I'd really appreciate finding out! grin

Thanks
Ryan

Nice looking figures. I am always interested in seeing what people are doing with plastics.

Very nice!
The Guard is definately from Irregular.

Not sure about the Guard but you also asked about suggestions for painting reed shields. I experimented with some old Hinchliffe chaps who are serving in the later Achaemenid army.

I used a light yellow brown with a darker edge, then Army Painter Strong Tone. Worked quite well bringing out the woven pattern.

Excellent stuff. I haven't painted any of my Assyrians for awhile but this has reminded me to get back to them. Just cant face doing the chariots.

Thanks everyone (I completely forgot about this post!!!)

Garry, I'll try out your suggestion on the next batch. Thank you grin

Mick, just imagine how awesome they will look and how satisfied you will be when they're done though! :-D
