Well, the EASY ones are done! Assault and Scout tripods have hollow heads to begin with. But the rest of the Martians have solid resins heads. How to put a light into them? Well, I considered a lot of different approaches but finally settled on brute force. I took a big drill and ground out the inside of the head! It was quite a lot of work and left piles of resin dust, but it did work in the end. The Slaver tripod was the first. Kind of ironic when you consider I lobotomized the thing that controls the Lobototons! But the results were quite good and I'm pleased. I'm hoping I can do the same with most of the other resin tripods. The Grenadiers are still defeating me, however…

Very nice, the lighting really adds to the model! Kind of ironic when you consider I lobotomized the thing that controls the Lobototons! |

Very nice! Hope you wore a dustmask while grinding out the hood. Does the big hole in the back of his head show, though? |

Yeah, I should have worn a mask (cough, cough). As you can see from the photos, the hole doesn't really show at all. I had originally thought to make a removable panel to cover it, but when I saw how little it showed I decided not to bother. |

Hey, nice Paper Terrain too. Good basing on the country fences. Paper Terrain has the interesting feature of providing a building "shell" and within the outer shell is an innner "ruined" building of the same type. When your building gets hit and demo'd, pull the outer shell off to reveal the Ruin. |

Yes, I'm very fond of PaperTerrain products :) |
