Does anybody make them?

I would like to use them for AWI skirmish gaming so bonus points if the doors swing open and the windows allow muskets to fit out of them.

Thank you in advance.

I wish…

I ended up making some from foam core,
I then glued vacuuform clapboard sheeting and stonework sheets from model railroad shops.
Windows and doors came from Whitewash City.

John,

Cool, could I please see some pictures? How much did the project cost per house?

Check out 4Ground, I think they have something close if not exactly what you are looking for.

You can find those sheets of clapboard and stone/brick on ebay under the model trains category. Look under the "O" scale for use with 28mm scale, etc.

I've gone towards foam core and extruded foam insulation for most all of my terrain & building needs. Takes a little longer, but it's a lot less expensive and if you can use a ruler and craft knife, you should do fine.

Check out O and S guage train models. Some of the pre painted buildings ae quite close to AWI period. K-Line may be one or Plasticville. A model train shop is a wonderful place.

Sarissa makes three styles of two-story plantation houses in their North America line:

These are similar sheets to what I was talking about:

auction

At $1 USD/sheet it's fairly inexpensive. If you search I'm also certain you can find the paper printed ones with embossed surfaces. They look pretty doggone good as well.

Or you could go the custom-built way and have Herb Gundt of HG Walls make one for you. He builds lift off roofs and a lift out second floor inside the building.

MBA might make them too, but I'm not sure.

Grand Manner in the UK, but not cheap!

Thank you for the tips gentlemen!

Sarissa looks like it has potential, particularly as I am thinking of branching out into Southern Campaign skirmishes.

Are all the roofs removable with Grand Manner buildings?

Does anyone know if the Chew House by JR Miniatures has a removable roof?

I am starting to produce a range of laser cut buildings with a Colonial American Style. The first few buildings are already available with more to come.
