Does anyone know anything about this company? I have watched the site for quite a while hoping that some of the models which have shown "Temporarily Unavailable" or "Sold Out" would again become available. They have not and I am wondering if they are ceasing operations and the website is just a non-functional remnant.

No it seems he is winding things down. No new stock,I sure hate to see him go. The miniatures are good and fill in holes that Throughbread does not have.

Yep. a shame if that is the case. I love the Thoroughbred models and have well over 80 of them. A few Peter Pig and BAY models round out the collection. Mostly stuff like th Switzerland and Queen of the West which you cannot otherwise.

I talked with Stephen last week when I was in San Francisco. Yes, there are a number of items out of stock at the moment. He's working through some things, but I didn't get the impression he was pulling the plug on Bay Area Yards anytime soon.

If I recall correctly, he said that the Patrick Henry was back in stock, though the web site still shows it as unavailable.

I'm thinking of ordering some of what is available. He makes a number of unique small vessels as well as stuff on the large end of the scale. I've got the hulls for two Minnesota class frigates as well as USS Niagra. They make great gaming models.

I'm scheduled to run a game at Advance The Colors in Springfield next month. There will be some Bay Area Yards ships on the table for sure.

G Dog – What day are you running ACW naval rules are you using? I might make an effort to come up to my first ATC in Springfield!

Friday night at 7:00pm. Thought I'd go up for the afternoon, socialize/shop do early dinner then get my game on.

For rules, I'll likely stick to the classic Smoke on the Water.

Friday night might be tough…let me see how things go!

I have quite a sizeable collection of BAY models. They fit in very nicely with Toby Barret's Thoroughbred range and cover some unusual subjects.

BAY is not quite gone. Real life issues have been getting in the way for the last three years, and will continue to do so for now. Still, when I can get restocks, I will let you know on the BAY Yahoo group as well as here. I will be restocking ships boats shortly, and we have a new mini that just went up on the website today-

CSS Texas resin cast casemate ironclad.

Now if I could only win the powerball lottery…

Still, BAY limps along.

Good to know Steven. I sent you an email offline from my AOL account. Can you take a look and let me know if the models I am looking for will be available anytime in the near future.

Thanks,
