"And to end the day in epic style, check out the new poster and trailer for NORTHMEN: A VIKING SAGA which, starring TV stars Tom Hopper and Ryan Kwanten follows a band of Vikings stranded behind enemy lines on the coast of Alba as their longboat goes down in a dreadful storm. Their only chance of survival is to find a path to the Viking settlement, Danelag, traversing an unfamiliar and hostile land they have never known."

Gads. The now-obligatory Badass Chick with Crossbow. Which, as we all now know, the olden days were chockablock with.

Also, the refusal of the menfolk to wear headgear or wear their hair appropriately.

If the poster is anything to go by, total Hollyweird crud. The crossbow & wench are both 15th Century-ish, possibly later. The archer is using a modern Korean fiberglass bow (probably surplus from the last Wolverine movie) and he has had limited 'training' in how to use it. And then there is the Martial Arts Monk…….

It looks to go down hill from there.

Roll on The Last kingdom on BBC. With Cornwell involved, at least a nod at historical accuracy will be guaranteed….theoretically. Look at the mess the BBC made of The White Queen!
