They include: "Many of our sellers have already started using eBay Managed Returns and are paying for return postage on faulty or not as described items. Starting from 15 September, we will introduce requirements that all sellers take responsibility for return postage on items which are faulty or not as described. The majority of our sellers are already providing a great returns service, but for those sellers who choose not to facilitate a return or provide/fund return postage for items that are faulty or not as described, we may refund their buyers without requiring them to return the item and in turn we will seek reimbursement from sellers. " So unless Sellers offer to pay for returns for whatever reason, (fair enough if they are wrong or defective) they'll end up with some dodgy scrote claiming "not as described" – how can a seller prove they were? They could even claim faulty for say a broken bayonet – then they'll keep the goods and the seller will be charged by eBay. Just wonderful …… |

So basically if I get an item from Ebay I decide I don't want for any reason the seller is screwed…….. thats so awesome…… I'm sure it will do wonders for keeping small sellers on Ebay. And yes that was sarcasm. |

The end result of that policy will be for sellers to raise their prices to cover the eventuality that some stuff will get returned at their cost. Glad I just listed a bunch of stuff now so I don't have to deal with this for a while. Steve |

OTOH, I bought a DVD that the seller stated was Region 1 but when it arrived was Region 2. The dispute process required me to send it back to get compensated but given the seller was obviously dodgy kept it and sourced a multi-region player instead. What irritated me was that once the dispute process was started my ability to leave negative feedback was removed. |

Perhaps the largest benefiters will be Etsy and Craigslist… |

And this is why I pay my "dues" and use the TMP Marketplace. I've just finishes selling a bunch of unwanted figures gifted to me my several wargamers who moved away. All but one of the sales has been completed. That one is still awaiting payment. Jim |

More, heavy-handed, eBay blackmail. Can't wait for the results of the class-action lawsuit on this one. |
