I came across a mention of using acrylic plastic nail polish display racks for organizing model paints. It turned out well. link |

Yup, that's what I use |

that's a great idea, but I hear that dropper-bottles of paint should be stored sideways? So the pigment doesn't all settle to the bottom…. how do you folks feel about that? Is that a significant issue? Or, since I do shake my bottles thoroughly every time (at least 30 seconds of serious agitation), it's not really an issue? |

I'm not quite sure what the difference between a bottle that has settled in the bottom and a bottle that has settled on it's side would be? Vallejo's own display racks store the bottles upright so again, I'm not sure where this logic springs from? Personally, I drop a 10mm SS nut in each bottle and just give the bottle a squeeze and a roll each time I use it. |

Nice ideas! I have three of the big 4-shelf and one 3-shelf Paintier carousels myself and they are all stuffed beyond official capacity with paints of all types and sizes. I need a lot of storage space for the hordes of paints I insist upon. If my table were larger, I'd get ANOTHER big Paintier and easily fill it, too. But this is the max I have space for under current conditions. I like being able to rotate the Paintiers around, this maximizes the use of the space. |
