My kids and I have come up with a game- still needs work. It uses the basic mechanics of Wings of Glory, the WWI aircraft wargame. Each player has a deck of movement cards (3 forward cards, 3 right turn, etc). They pick any three from their deck and lay them face down in front of them. All players reveal their first card and move their car simultaneously. If you collide, roll 1d6. cars have a point value that get reduced until it is a wreck. We plan on giving cars special attributes. We experimented tonight with random stall and spin-our cards but that needs work. Easy and fun. My 3 year old daughter can play- laying out random cards can create pretty good mayhem. |

Sounds like a cool idea. Keep us updated on the progress. |

Sounds great. Maybe add a time limit for experienced players to keep the feeling of high octane mayhem? |

btw, random movement card selection is how my daughter often plays Wings of Glory. And she often wins – it is hard to plan against! |

Sounds like a very similar game to this: Outrider It's a great little game but it is PnP, so not for everyone. It's a shame there are no model manufacturers that do cars with interchangeable weapons (at least I don't think there are). |

Cool! I thought about making some Road Warrior style adds to the game. I also was brainstorming a Roman chariot game. |

Assuming the derby area is small and these cars are beaters just used for demolition. I would just use dice and a ruler. use six dice. movement is forward (2), back (3), left (4), right (5), and stall (6). In order for a person to move they need to roll the all the dice and they can do a maneuver that they rolled the most of.Ones are ignored. you'll have to set the distance that they can move based on how big your area is. I would go with everyone move and then collisions are resolved. During the collision part, the two involved roll their six die. Whoever has the most of the highest number wins the collision. The loser has to lose a die, so instead of rolling 6d they now can only roll 5d, so on, and so on until the competitor has no more die to roll. The competitor who has the last die wins. Try that and see how it goes. |

Tried this out with a few friends. We made "1's" wild cards so you can choose the direction you want, if you get enough and we settled on 6" movement. Was quick fun. |
