Could some one post a step by step "how to post pics for dummies" instructions. I read what is in the faqs and still can't get the links to work.

I hear you davbenbak… I tried that myself a few nights ago, a TOTAL disaster!

Mayby Tango will come to our rescue?

1) post pictures to some online picture hosting site
2) after photo is uploaded to such site, open it in your browser, and copy the URL.
3) paste the picture's URL into the text box here on TMP.

The copied image file URL must end in an image file code such as .jpg for TMP to interpret it as a picture

The trick is to make sure the link is to the actual picture, and not to the page where the picture is…

I Post mine to Photobucket.
Bring up the picture in big form by clicking on it.
Then go to the right side where it says, IMG.
Click on the IMG identity to the right of IMG it will say copied in yellow.

Go to your post and paste, right click to paste or alt C.

When you have sent you picture somewhere online (I host mine in my own website) I think that a sure way is, in any forum post, to type brackets [ ][ ]
(key combination on a Mac: alt+shift+parenthesis, I'm not sure about Windows).
Then inside the first pair of brackets you write img
and inside the last pair of brackets you write /img
and between both you copy/paste the address of the picture.

Thanks Chris Palmer. I copy pasted the code and then deleted all code after the letter 'jpg'

Picture is a bit big though.

davbenbak13 Aug 2014 9:08 a.m. PST

Would snapfish work instead of photobucket? Do these sites cost anything to join?

ColonelToffeeApple13 Aug 2014 9:55 a.m. PST

Well I'm stumped again. I used to be able to do it from Flickr but now I can't figure it out any more.

snurl113 Aug 2014 11:50 p.m. PST

Thomas Nissvik Yes, i did.

chrisminiaturefigs07 Sep 2014 1:31 p.m. PST

I had this argument here last year as to why there cannot be the simplicity of adding a photo to your topic by clicking add image and up pops your photo albums followed by a double click on image you require, which is all I normally do, even for my Google Blog sight.
URL ,cut, copy, paste bla, bla, bla,

Weasel07 Sep 2014 2:51 p.m. PST

It is a pain in hte butt. I end up loading the picture to a private web site of mine, then linking it from the server there.

Thomas Nissvik09 Sep 2014 7:03 a.m. PST

O, damned, I forgot to check back. Anyway, here is what I did.
Klicked on snurls link. That takes me to a page with the text Photo Gallery and a picture of the truck.
Right-click on the picture and choose "Copy Linkadress".
Paste the copied text here:

picture

The fact that the text ends in ".jpg" is what makes TMP understand that it is a picture.

This was in Chrome. Using Internet Explorer I right-clicked on the picture and chose "Copy" for the same result.

Old Contemptibles10 Sep 2014 9:27 a.m. PST

All my photos are either on my hard drive or posted to various Yahoo Groups. I have never figured out how to post from either. I guess it would be too easy to be able to cut and paste from anywhere including your hard drive. I just gave up.

Thomas Nissvik11 Sep 2014 4:02 a.m. PST

Rallynow, I use Photobucket. A good way to back up pictures and easy to link to them.

Neroon11 Sep 2014 9:28 a.m. PST

Test again

Neroon11 Sep 2014 9:32 a.m. PST

Huh. Before, I needed to use the direct link to post from photobucket. But now I just need the IMG link (like in most other websites). Does this mean we now have TMP 3.5 ? grin
