Recently played the historical Napoleonic battle of Wartenburg fought during the Autumn Campaign of 1813. This is one of the lesser known battles which, none-the-less led to the important battle of Leipzig. Prussians vs French in 28mm. link cheers |

Nice scenario and AAR write up. Our gaming group did that scenario at a local HMGS-PSW convention several years ago (pre-blogging days). A fun scenario. M aka WR |

I love your basing! What rules do you use? |

Thanks for the kind comment, WR. With the lack of historic specifics and the availability of the wargamer's terrain pieces, their shape and dimensions and certainly of one's interpretation of the events of the battle, each play of the battle will be different. However, as miniatures war gamers we must compromise upon that but if, at the end of the game, we understand just that much more on the conditions of the day, we have done our part. cheers |

D6, The rules are currently under development and are designed specifically for the basing size and style – big blocks. Each stand equals a brigade usually and therefore we look to do the 'biggie battles' and those in a convention setting. If you look at some of the blogs past posts you will see that I have done the Battle of Ligny, for example, a few times now, each giving a pretty close to historic result. Having a rule set good for a friendly group setting is one thing, ready to present to the public is quite another and is a huge undertaking. Don't know if that will ever be done. However the rules allow us to get away with painting up a three horse unit and calling it a brigade, but STILL looking good on the table! |

Great looking Game AM! I've played his rules and they are fun, easy and fast. |

Glad to see I'm not alone in "using 'discrete' markers for my games liking a nice, clean battlefield!" Nicely presented game with an excellent write up |
