I know they are not for ACW, but maybe with a little work…

Armand, they are for the US-Mexican War of 1830s – the Alamo.

More excellent figures from Boot Hill Miniatures in its fabulous range of figures. I like them very much. Thanks.

The Red Rovers were part of Fannin's regiment and massacred at Goliad. Red hunting shirts. If you play an alternate history Alamo, putting Fannin inside and tripling the garrison, they could be there.

That would be the Texas-Mexican war of 1836.

I think some of these fine looking figures could easily be used as American militia for the War of 1812.

Right. Texas's war for independence. The Mexican-American War was 1846-48, after Texas had been admitted to the Union; a different (but related) war.

I know that mes amis, but imho maybe they can be used for some ACW unit with some work.? Maybe the casualties only?
Good idea from our friend IronDuke596!
Also think they can be used for the Old West?

Armand,

Maybe the casualties. In addition they could certainly be used for the pre-ACW west. You could probably use them for the period until the Mexican War of the 1840s, maybe after that for some Indian Fighting, perhaps as late as the 1850s. I've never seen images (of course now someone will produce one) of Texans wearing fringe during the ACW. But remember, with many of the Rangers in the Confederate Army and with the US Army gone, local civilians were often called on to fight the Indians. However the Texasn had quickly adopted the colt pistol so that might be a little problem.
